Yes, it's another network. But it's not just another network. It can be as much or as little as you want it to be.

The Sphere is a place for people interested in writing, poetry, publishing, zines, art, diy, collectives, collaboratives, experimental work, and small press to discuss work, projects...to meet up, trade, post calls for submissions, and connect around creative work and the independent art/press scene. This network welcomes writers and publishers and artists from all walks of life, who share a commitment to community, independence and collaborative distribution.

This one's tricky, Roberta. Surrealism arose out of Dada, and shares some of the same elements as Absurdism. In fact, someone might think they are one but actually be the other. (I'm going to stop right here because greater minds than mine have go...

Certainly, no one should be limited by these guidelines. They are intended merely as a springboard to encourage the hesitant writer to explore absurdist fiction on her/his own.

“Beer, please.” The bartender nodded, placed a mat in front of me, and soon after a tall glass of ice cold lager. I watched as the sides grew moist with condensation. It had been a long trip. London to Jo'burg, 4 hour wait, Jo'burg to Blantyre. ...

I think you're on the right track, certainly some elements of what you're saying appeals to me, but I wonder if techniques or tools should be indicated as guidelines. IMO, if one adheres to this philosophy, the ways s/he employs to artistically de...

would anyone like to have a stab at surrealist as opposed to absurdist? i wonder about this one. some writing definitely feels more surrealist than absurdist to me, but i have no idea how one would differentiate the two stylistically? (i presume t...

Jim I wonder if some people are attracted irrespective of what "absurdist" means to them simply because they are niche-diggers? People who decide at some point that there are some quirks or kharms-a that holds some appeal, or they enjoy the exerci...

I would say that I am mostly in agreement with this, we have had this discussion around the net and I think that as far as I can tell I am generally on the same page with Jim, Jeff, and to some extent polycarp. Although I think the issue of "sill...

In regards to Semiotics, only two views are possible: Nominalists - Sausssureans, Baudrillard, Derrida et al. Realists - Lacan, Umberto Eco, Sebeok, et al. I'm simply offering a different application of these semiotic terms and the dichotomy they ...

no ...nominalists will be nominal by definition. There is temporal and figural. But loyal is the pinnacle of hierarchy. When one thinks of absolute one no longer thinks. Nominal is nominal and therefore a default condition.
